Alkhidmat aims to install Water Filtration Plants across the city: CEO Naveed Ali Baig

Chief Executive Officer Alkhidmat Karachi, Naveed Ali Baig stated that currently 66 water filtration plants of Alkhidmat are operational in Karachi. The city is facing a severe water crisis, and contaminated water has become a major issue. In this situation, Alkhidmat has been providing clean and high-quality drinking water for years through its “WASH Program” by establishing water filtration plants. The organization aims to set up water filtration plants across the city so that the entire population can benefit from this facility. He shared these remarks in a recent statement in which he also highlighted that thousands of people benefit from Alkhidmat’s water filtration plants daily. Additionally, water vans are deployed outside hospitals, community kitchens, and public places, providing cold drinking water to fasting individuals, patients, and their attendants. These water vans remain operational throughout the year. Alkhidmat has also installed water filtration plants in six educational institutions and hospitals on an honorary basis, benefiting students and the general public. Furthermore, three water dispensing machines in Karachi provide 24/7 service, allowing people to access clean water at any time using a card-based system. The organization also operates its own water testing laboratory, where water is regularly tested, and external testing services are provided at affordable rates. Alkhidmat also installs summer simple pumps, solar summer simple pumps, and hand pumps in areas such as Baldia and Korangi, where water tankers cannot reach due to narrow streets or electricity issues. Recognizing Karachi’s persistent water crisis, Alkhidmat arranges water supply through bore-wells to meet the needs of affected communities. Naveed Ali Baig reiterated that providing water is a noble form of charity and a continuous source of blessings. He urged philanthropists to support Alkhidmat in expanding this initiative, especially during the holy month of Ramadan to ensure clean water accessibility for more people.
