Alkhidmat announces disaster relief training program for volunteers

Alkhidmat Karachi has announced that it will provide disaster relief training program for all volunteers registered with it. Speaking at an Eid Milan cum Certificate Distribution Ceremony organized to felicitate the young boys and girls who had volunteered for Alkhidmat’s programs during Ramadan, CEO and Chief Guest Naveed Ali Baig made the announcement while thanking them and appreciating their selfless contribution of time and energy in the holy month.He recalled the efforts of volunteers during the 2005 earthquake and the 2022 floods when hundreds of students from the city’s schools, colleges and universities who worked tirelessly at Alkhidmat’s headoffice to pack relief goods and load them on trucks to be sent to the affected areas. Naveed Ali assured them of a great reward from Allah SWT and said that as Muslims we have been encouraged to help each other at moments of crises.He then promised the volunteers that Alkhidmat would train them in disaster management techniques that would enhance their abilities and prepare them for any natural calamity in the future. Director Volunteer Management YousufMohideen also spoke at the event and informed the audience that apart from vast natural resources, Pakistan was also blessed with a young population with 64% under 20 years of age and 29% between 15 and 29 years. Very few countries could boast of such a young and talented population that had immense potential for progress and success. All that was required was to harness this potential for the nation’s benefit. He urged the volunteers to continue serving Alkhidmat selflessly for which they would be rewarded by Allah. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the volunteers and a dinner.
