Alkhidmat Awards Scholarships to 1,174 students Nationwide

Alkhidmat Karachi recently granted scholarships to 1,174 students from all over the country, worth more than 99 million rupees. That brings the total figure handed out in scholarships to more than 53 million rupees for 5,411 students since the scholarship scheme was launched. Speaking at a special ceremony to honour and reward meritorious students in Karachi, Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Waqas Anjum Jafari who was the Chief Guest at the ceremony, also disclosed that although the scope of these scholarships was currently limited to Masters students, it would be soon be expanded to include PhD and M.Phil students too. CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, Director Academic Scholarships Yousuf Muhyiudeen, Manager Academic Scholarships Muhammad Tariq and other senior officials were also present at the event. Syed Waqas Anjum Jafari mentioned that Alkhidmat was granting these scholarships to bright and deserving students from lesser privileged families to facilitate their education and help them achieve a rewarding career that would benefit them, their families as well as the nation. Naveed Ali Baig reminded the audience that Alkhidmat was working globally to alleviate poverty and need. He mentioned Bano Qabil, Alkhidmat’s free IT education for youth as a shining example of Alkhidmat’s initiatives in the realm of education and youth empowerment. He disclosed that Bano Qabil was now in its fourth iteration, with almost 25,000 students having benefitted from it. He also made a mention of the Skill Development Council, another of Alkhidmat’s initiative to impart technical and vocational skills such as mobile-repairing, electric maintenance, tailoring, industrial automation, solar installation and others to hundreds of semi-literate youth who were benefitting from it to earn a respective income for their families. Yousuf Muhyiudeen encouraged the students to study hard for their future and join Alkhidmat’s volunteer service to serve society and earn infinite reward from Allah (SWT) in this world and the next.
