Alkhidmat conducts 2nd stage of annual health screening for 470 orphans  

Alkhidmat Karachi recently conducted the second phase of its annual health screening for 470 orphans registered under its Orphan Care program. The screening was done by a team of specialist doctors in ENT, eye, skin and dental illnesses as well as paramedical staff in special camps organized at the Alkhidmat Malir Medical Center and Alkhidmat Orangi Hospital. The camps were attended by a number of senior officials from Alkhidmat Karachi’s Orphan Care program, while the children were accompanied by their mothers and guardians. Apart from check-ups, prescribed medicines were given free to those who needed them. These children and their guardians were also given precautionary medical advice by the doctors to keep themselves healthy. CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig visited the camp at Alkhidmat Orangi Hospital and met the doctors as well as the children and their guardians. Director Community Services Qazi Syed Sadruddin visited the camp at Alkhidmat Malir Medical Center along with Town Chairman Malir Zafar Ahmed Khan, Director Orphan Program Yousuf Muhyiudeen, Assistant Orphan Program Karachi Muhammad Haroon Shahid and other senior officials. Speaking on the occasion, Naveed Ali Baig said that Alkhidmat was not only taking care of almost 1700 orphans in Karachi but also providing them proper health screening every year. He termed the care of orphans a noble cause highly recommended in Islam and called for the public to support such activities. Zafar Ahmed Khan and Yousuf Muhyiudeen also spoke on the occasion and appealed to those with means to come forward and support Alkhidmat Karachi in its efforts for the upliftment of orphans.
