Alkhidmat conducts 3rd stage of annual health screening for 480 orphans

Alkhidmat Karachi recently conducted the third phase of its annual health screening for 480 orphans registered under its Orphan Care program and Aghosh Homes.The screening was done at Alkhidmat’s Nazimabad Hospital, Orangi Hospital and North Karachi Medical Center. The children were accompanied by their mothers and guardians while officials from the Orphan Care program and Aghosh Homes were also present. Check-ups were conducted by a team of specialist doctors in ENT, eye, skin and dental illnesses as well as paramedical staffand prescribed medicines were given free to those who needed them.These children and their guardians were also given precautionary health advice by the doctors to keep themselves healthy and follow a hygienic routine.Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureishi said that Alkhidmat was supporting more than 1,500 orphan children in their own homes and another 50 children in its Aghosh Homes. He said that these orphan children were like our own children and Alkhidmat was not only taking care of their living expenses but also their education and health. He termed the care of orphans a noble cause highly recommended in Islam and called for the public to support Alkhidmat in such activities.
