Alkhidmat Karachi’s Madaris Tafheem-ul-Qur’an held its “Completion of the Qur’an” ceremony on Saturday at Idara Noor-e-Haq. Shields and certificates were distributed among students who completed Qur’anic recitation (Nazra) and memorization (Hifz). The event was presided over by Alkhidmat Karachi’s Executive Director, Rashid Qureshi, and attended by Mufti Ata-ur-Rehman, Supervisor of Markaz Qur’an-o-Sunnah, Maulana Abdul Wahid, President of Jamiat Ittehad-ul-Ulama Karachi, Maulana Muhammad Qavi Shuraim, Alkhidmat Karachi’s Acting Director of Education Inayatullah Ismail, and many prominent scholars from across the city. Hundreds of students from nearly 100 affiliated madaris in areas such as Kathore, Memon Goth, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Gadap, Korangi, District South, Orangi Town, Malir, and Hawkesbay participated in the event. The collective ‘Ameen’ prayer was led by Qari Mansoor Qureshi. Shields were distributed to all participating students, with scarves given to female students and teachers, and Palestinian mufflers to male students. Addressing the audience, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi congratulated the students, their teachers, and parents, highlighting the honor of having children not only complete Qur’anic recitation but also memorize the Qur’an. He emphasized Alkhidmat’s commitment to enhancing its educational programs alongside its other social services, and also announced plans to introduce teachers to modern teaching methodologies and to allocate resources for the improvement of madaris. Recently, a five-day workshop was conducted for 50 teachers, with plans to extend this training to district-level educators to boost their academic and teaching capabilities. Speaking at the event, Mufti Ata-ur-Rehman remarked that the students were not guests of Alkhidmat but guests of Allah, as they had absorbed the divine teachings of the Qur’an into their hearts. He expressed his happiness at the successful event, which brought together hundreds of students and teachers from across the city, and congratulated Alkhidmat’s administration for organizing it efficiently. Maulana Abdul Wahid, President of Jamiat Ittehad-ul-Ulama Karachi, stated that while he had attended many events across the city, this ceremony stood out due to the remarkable number of students who had completed Qur’anic recitation and memorization. He praised Alkhidmat’s Madaris Tafheem-ul-Qur’an for their role in providing religious education to the younger generation. Manager of Madaris, M.H. Akbar, and Acting Director of Education, Inayatullah Ismail, presented the educational objectives of Alkhidmat’s Madaris Tafheem-ul-Qur’an and expressed hope that teachers would intensify their efforts to achieve these goals.
