Alkhidmat holds Annual Connect 2022-23; awards outstanding performers

Alkhidmat Karachi held its yearly awards and recognition ceremony for employees, Annual Connect 2022-23, on Tuesday, February 08, 2023 at the Memon Federation auditorium. The program was attended by CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, Director Health Services Dr. Saqib Ansari, Director Mawakhat and Family Support Program Yusuf Muhyiuddeen, Director Bano Qabil Program Farooq Kamlani, Bano Qabil Project Director Salman Sheikh, Director HR and Compliance Muneer Yaqoob, Director Pharmacy Services Sayyed Jamshed Ahmed, Director Education Kamil Multani, CFO Syed Abul Aa’la Siddiqui, Alkhidmat’s hospital administrators, managers and other staff. Addressing the audience, Dr. Wasay Shakir, Naib Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami expounded on the importance of serving mankind and its link to the establishment of Islam as a political system. He exhorted the audience to combine their services to humanity with a parallel effort for the establishment and propagation of the Prophet’s (SAWS) message and way of life. CEO Naveed Ali Baig highlighted that Alkhidmat had targeted 10,000 students in the initial stage of the Bano Qabil program and a similar number later and announced that the first class was due to start in a couple of days. He disclosed that in the previous year, Alkhidmat’s welfare services had reached almost two crores and eighteen lac beneficiaries, transforming the organization into the most diverse and well-known NGO in the country. Acknowledging the contribution of staff and volunteers during the recent flood relief operation, he said that an American visitor was amazed at the efforts of volunteers who worked 20 hours a day during the recent floods. Lastly, he thanked the directors who were serving on an honorary basis and expending their time, energy and money for Alkhidmat. Executive Director Rashid Qureshi also spoke on the occasion and gave some insight on the inception and evolution of the Annual Connect event since the last three years, and added that Alkhidmat now possessed the largest volunteer force in the country. Director Health Services Dr. Saqib Ansari emphasized upon the medical staff to treat patients and visitors with empathy to differentiate between Alkhidmat’s hospitals and others. Towards the end, performance awards were presented to deserving employees, with Manager HR Fareed Ahmed receiving the award for the ‘Employee of the Year’. The event ended with supplications by CFO Alkhidmat Syed Abul Aa’la Siddiqui and a dinner thereafter.
