Alkhidmat launches Mega Tree-planting drive; thousands of trees planted

Alkhidmat Karachi and Islami Jamiat Tulba, University of Karachi have jointly launched a Mega Tree-planting drive in which their volunteers have already planted thousands of saplings. The drive was initiated following a special ceremony at the University of Karachi that was attended by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Iraqi, Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureishi, Director Volunteer Management YousufMuhiudeen, Chairman Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Dr. Fawad, NazimI slami Jamiat Tulba Karachi Hafiz Abish Siddiqui, faculty members and a large number of university students. The first saplings were planted by Dr. Iraqi and Rashid Qureishi followed by Jamiat and Alkhidmat’s volunteers. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Iraqi expounded on the importance of planting trees to combat environmental pollution and reduce temperatures, which he said was the responsibility of every citizen. He expressed his pleasure at the participation of the large number of students in the drive and thanked Alkhidmat for the initiative. Yousu fMuhiudeen disclosed that Alkhidmat’s drive had a target of planting 100,000 trees by June 2025 and urged the students and volunteers to participate wholeheartedly in the mega drive.
