Alkhidmat Opens New State-of-the-art Pharmacy in Nazimabad

A new, state-of-the-art pharmacy was opened by Alkhidmat Karachi in Nazimabad on Friday, Dec 22. The inauguration of the new pharmacy was done by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman. Present on the occasion were Managing Director Pharm Evo Haroon Qasim, CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, Executive Director Rashid Qureishi, Director Pharmacy Services Sayyed Jamshed Ahmed, Director Diagnostic Services Professor Azeemuddin, President Alkhidmat UK Shaukat Ali and other senior officials from Alkhidmat Health department. Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeem said that the provision of healthcare services was actually the responsibility of the government, which it had failed to do fulfill. Although the government had allocated a budget for healthcare, the benefits do not reach the people. This gap was being filled by Alkhidmat which was providing exemplary healthcare services throughout the country through its hospitals, clinics and pharmacies that were operating on international standards and offering medicines at subsidized rates. Hafiz Naeem went on to declare that Alkhidmat planned to open 200 pharmacies throughout the country. This was in addition to the Bano Qabil Pharmacist program that was launched recently which would be extended to accommodate housewives also. He went on to explain the numerous welfare services that Alkhidmat was providing such as clean water, education, orphan care as well as the successful Bano Qabil free IT courses program which was in its second edition with 15,000 youth graduating from the first edition. The second edition had been enhanced with more courses and centers to accommodate the overwhelming response from the city’s youth who wanted to become financially independent and professionally successful. He stressed that an IT training center was also running in the headquarters of the Jamaat-e-Islami which was a first in the history of political parties in the country. CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig said that Alkhidmat’s high quality services were available for all classes, rich or poor, without any discrimination. He also disclosed that the new Diagnostic Center in Nazimabad was being equipped with the latest equipment including MRI and Mammography machines which would enable Alkhidmat to provide the common man with critical medical reports at very low rates. Lauding Alkhidmat’s new pharmacy, Managing Director Pharm Evo Haroon Qasim said that Alkhidmat’s efforts in the Health sector were praiseworthy and of the highest quality. Director Pharmacy Services Sayyed Jamshed Ahmed concluded by saying that Alkhidmat’s pharmacy services were one of only four in the country that were operating on the highest international protocols. That was despite offering an industry-high discount of 13.5% on medicines purchased from Alkhidmat.
