Alkhidmat organizes Roza Kushai at Aghosh Homes; opens new Computer Lab and Library
Alkhidmat Karachi recently organized a Roza Kushai program at its Aghosh Homes for orphans at Gulshan-e-Maymar, Karachi. Children who had fasted for the very first time in their life were felicitated and garlanded during the function, and also given gifts. CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, Executive Director Rashid Qureishi, Director Orphan Care Yousuf Mohideen, Director Community Services Qazi Syed Sadruddin, Senior Manager Inayatullah Ismail, Manager Orphan Care Program Musab bin Abdul Qadir and Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District Gadap Irfan Ahmed were present on the occasion along with other senior officials and journalists. During the ceremony, resident children were told about the importance and purpose of fasting during Ramadan. CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig congratulated the children who had fasted for the first time and encouraged them to continue doing so for the rest of their lives. He reminded them to be thankful to Allah in every situation, relating the experience of Palestinian children in Gaza who were being killed and wounded while being starved of food and water by Israeli forces. He assured the children of Alkhidmat’s continuing support and exhorted them to become good citizens. Irfan Ahmed further inspired the children, recalling the history of the Conqueror of Sindh, Muhammad bin Qasim, who had conquered Sindh on this very day at the young age of 17, despite being orphaned when he was just 5. Later, Naveed Ali Baig inaugurated the new Computer Lab and library in the complex and expressed his appreciation for the children’s enthusiasm for books and computers, and appealed to those with means to come forward and assist Alkhidmat Karachi in its efforts for orphans. The program concluded with an Iftar dinner for the children and guests.
