Hafiz Naeem visits Alkhidmat’s Skill Development Center, meets students
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman visited Alkhidmat Karachi’s Skill Development Center at PIB Colony recently and met the students studying various courses there. He was accompanied by Director Mawakhat Alkhidmat Karachi Yousuf Mohiudeen and other senior officials. The Skill Development Center imparts free technical training courses to semi-literate youth to help them learn professional trades such as Electric Maintenance, Tailoring, Mobile Phone Repairing and Solar Power Installation. A new Industrial Automation course has been started recently. Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeem encouraged the students and urged them to learn their trades well, which would help them get a decent employment and support their families. He lamented the fact that despite the abundance of skilled youth, there was a lack of employment opportunities which was forcing people to leave the country and seek opportunities in foreign lands. He said that Alkhidmat had decided to come forward and help the youth by imparting them hard skills that were in demand. The SDC was one such initiative and the Bano Qabil free IT courses program was another where thousands of youth were enrolled in the latest IT courses. Yousuf Mohiudeen also encouraged the students and disclosed that nearly 70% of students who had passed out from the Skill Development Center had managed to get employed while others had established their own businesses that have helped them to earn a respectable living for themselves and their families. He also said that new courses would be added soon, and highlighted that such efforts were possible only through the assistance and generosity of Alkhidmat’s donors and supporters. Lastly, he called upon those with means in society to come forward and help Alkhidmat in such activities which benefit individuals and society as a whole.
