MPA Farhan Ahmed lauds Alkhidmat asEid Shopping event for orphan children concludes
Alkhidmat Karachi’s exciting 5-day Eid Shopping event for orphan children concluded on Friday with the last batch of 450 children living their dream at the Chase Value Departmental Store. Along with them, orphan children from Alkhidmat’s Aghosh Homes in Gulshan-e-Maymar also participated in the event which is held every year in Ramadan with the noble intention to include these less fortunate children in the Eid festivities. Each orphan child was entitled to a gift voucher of PKR 6,000and some Eidi with complete freedom to choose their gifts without any restrictions. A total of 2,200 orphan children from Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Program participated in the event and enjoyed the Eid shopping experience thoroughly with their mothers and guardians under the guidance of Alkhidmat’s volunteers. Several important personalities were present on the last day including MPA Sindh Assembly Farhan Ahmed, former MPA Syed Abdul Rasheed, Town Chairman Liaqatabad Faraz Haseeb, Town Chairman GulshanDr. Fawad Ahmed, Ameer JI District AirportTaufeequdeen Siddiqui and Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureishi. These celebrities and guests met the children and exchanged warm feelings with them and their guardians.Lauding Alkhidmat for its heart-warming initiative, MPA Farhan Ahmedsaid that it was a moving experience to see these orphan children enjoying their shopping and choosing gifts for themselves. Syed Abdul Rasheedstressed on the great rewards for taking care of orphans reminding the gathering that the Prophet (SAWS) was an orphan himself. FarazHaseeb said that these children should be considered as our own and society must come forward to support them. Dr. Fawad Ahmed noted that this was an annual event and every year number of participating children was rising, which was a shining example of Alkhidmat’s efforts among orphans. Rashid Qureishi Orphans disclosed that orphan children under Alkhidmat’s care are also being provided religious and moral guidance through programs conducted on special occasions such as Ramadan.During the two Eids, these children are not forgotten and Alkhidmat arranges gifts for them so that they can share in the celebrations. Lastly, he appealed to those with means to come forward and assist Alkhidmat Karachi in its efforts for orphans.
