50 Years of Alkhidmat’s Services; Tribute Paid to Maulana Maududi and Other Eminent Leaders
Alkhidmat Karachi’s has entered its 50th year of social services, marking the milestone with an annual conference held at a local hotel as part of its golden jubilee celebrations. The event paid rich tribute to the founder of Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Syed Abul A‘la Maududi (RA), and other senior leaders who played a pivotal role in promoting the culture of service and welfare in the country.
The conference was attended by a large number of dignitaries, diplomats, representatives of corporate organizations, social workers, media personalities, and volunteers from across Pakistan. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman said that Alkhidmat has been serving humanity for the past 50 years and its mission continues across the country without discrimination. He emphasized that the organization would not abandon the younger generation, particularly Generation Z, and announced the launch of a comprehensive “Generation Z Connect Program” nationwide. He said that the Bano Qabil Program was an integral part of this initiative and had already expanded across Pakistan.
He highlighted that over 1.2 million students have been registered under the Bano Qabil Program, with 40 percent being female students. He noted that thousands of young people had been given hope at a time when unemployment, lack of opportunities, and inadequate facilities were forcing youth to leave the country. “We must hold the hands of our youth, build their confidence, and stand by them,” he said.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman also stated that Alkhidmat had not forgotten the oppressed people of Palestine and had so far sent 40 consignments of relief goods for their assistance. He said service to humanity was not a personal agenda but a duty toward the creation of Allah, adding that whatever is spent in the way of Allah is returned many times over in the form of reward.
Recalling the contributions of Maulana Maududi, he described him as a noble and compassionate human being who actively served people during the migration period after the creation of Pakistan. He also spoke about the life journey of Naimatullah Khan, stating that he came to Pakistan with nothing, lived in a hut, worked tirelessly, and eventually became a successful lawyer, later serving as Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami and City Nazim, shaped by the ideology and training of Jamaat-e-Islami.
The conference was also addressed by Alkhidmat CEO Naveed Ali Baig, former Test cricketer Tauseef Ahmed, actor Ayaz Khan, anchorperson Rizwan Jaffer, sports anchor Yahya Hussaini, and other speakers. CEO Naveed Ali Baig said that Alkhidmat’s welfare initiatives were benefiting millions of people across the country. He stated that the Bano Qabil Program alone had produced 75,000 graduates, thousands of whom were now financially supporting their families.
He said Alkhidmat actively responds during emergencies, including floods and natural disasters. He recalled that during floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Alkhidmat volunteers risked their lives to serve affected
communities, while in Buner, an Alkhidmat volunteer lost his life during relief work following a cloudburst. He also praised volunteers for their fearless services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Naveed Ali Baig highlighted Alkhidmat’s transparency, stating that donations are strictly utilized for the purposes for which they are collected. He added that the organization currently has 58,000 registered volunteers across Pakistan, including students. He further informed that Alkhidmat operates 73 water filtration plants, hospitals, medical centers, pharmacies, and a state-of-the-art diagnostic center providing quality healthcare services at affordable rates.
He also announced the establishment of an Aghosh Home for girls in 2025, where Alkhidmat women are responsible for their care and upbringing. He appealed to the people of Karachi and Pakistan to actively support Alkhidmat’s humanitarian mission.
Former Test cricketer Tauseef Ahmed praised Alkhidmat’s services, stating that serving humanity brings peace and reward in this world. He announced that he was formally joining Alkhidmat and would contribute to its sports-related initiatives. Other speakers also commended Alkhidmat’s efforts and urged the public to extend their support to the organization.
