
Alkhidmat Announces Educational Support for Lyari Football Team that won Norway Cup
Alkhidmat Karachi held a special ceremony its head office in honor of the Lyari boys’ football team that won the Under-15 Norway International Football Cup, bringing pride to Pakistan worldwide, as well as the Lyari girls’ team that secured the eighth position in the same tournament. Both teams were given a rousing tribute. The Norway Cup featured 152 teams from 37 countries. During the event, the coaches and captains of both teams were presented with commemorative shields, while players received books and other gifts. On this occasion, Alkhidmat also announced its commitment to providing every possible support for the players’ education. The ceremony was presided over by Alkhidmat Karachi Chief Executive Naveed Ali Baig, with speeches also delivered by Executive Director Rashid Qureshi and Lyari team coach Rashid Baloch. Volunteer Management Manager Asad Qureshi and other officials were also present. In his address, Naveed Ali Baig congratulated the team on their global victory and said: “Lyari’s children have raised Pakistan’s flag high across the world and have shown the nation that the youth of Lyari are not behind anyone. Because of you, a positive image of Lyari has been established. You went from Lyari and conquered the sports arena worldwide, bringing honor to Pakistan. You have proven that if given opportunities and encouragement, you can make the country proud at the international level.” He also commended the coach’s dedication and guidance in leading the team to success. Executive Director Rashid Qureshi said: “Never abandon your education. Pursue higher studies—education refines your life, builds your character, and helps you progress. For this purpose, Alkhidmat is ready to extend all possible support. We will stand with you in your journey for education.” He congratulated the Lyari boys’ team on their victory and the girls’ team for securing eighth place. Coach Rashid Baloch said: “Without Alkhidmat’s support, this journey would not have been possible. Whether Alkhidmat Pakistan or Alkhidmat Europe, we are grateful for their help in making it possible for us to participate in this tournament in Norway.” He added: “Be it during floods, heavy rains, Ramadan, or ordinary days, Alkhidmat is always seen serving people in streets and neighborhoods. Their work for humanity is unforgettable.”
