Alkhidmat completes 50 years; tributes paid to former presidents and secretaries with awards

Alkhidmat Karachi has honored its former presidents and secretaries on its completion of 50 years, paying tribute to those distinguished individuals who, through their leadership and dedication over the decades, elevated the mission of service to new heights. A special ceremony was organized by Alkhidmat in honor of these personalities, where all living former presidents and secretaries were acknowledged for their contributions and presented with commemorative shields. On the occasion, tribute was also paid to late former president Allah Khan and other deceased members. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Alkhidmat Karachi, Dr. Waasay Shakir, and attended by CEO Naveed Ali Baig, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, and directors from various departments. Former presidents Dr. Meraj ul Huda Siddiqui and Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, along with former secretaries Syed Hafeezullah, Osama Ismail Murad, and Engineer Abdul Aziz, also participated. Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Waasay Shakir said that Alkhidmat has achieved significant milestones over the past 50 years. He termed this journey as one of service, dedication, and trust, which has brought the organization to this important stage. He noted that since its inception in 1976, Alkhidmat’s services have expanded rapidly, particularly over the last two decades. He added that today Alkhidmat is trusted globally, and this trust is the result of its selfless services, earning it recognition as a leading NGO. He expressed hope that, building on this golden legacy, Alkhidmat will continue its journey successfully and achieve new milestones in public service. Chief Executive Naveed Ali Baig thanked all former presidents and secretaries for their invaluable contributions and praised their efforts. He stated that service is the hallmark of Alkhidmat, and over the past 50 years, it has set an example by alleviating suffering and spreading happiness. He further highlighted that Alkhidmat is working across multiple sectors, including Health, Education, Microfinance, WASH Programs, Bano Qabil, Orphan Care, Disaster Management, and Community Services, covering all major aspects of life. From starting with just two sectors, Alkhidmat has now become one of the country’s leading NGOs, trusted by the public. He emphasized that each program of Alkhidmat operates like an institution in itself, made possible through the tireless efforts of its former leaders who dedicated their time voluntarily to this mission of service. He concluded by stating that Alkhidmat is ready to achieve new milestones, with its dedicated staff and volunteers continuing to work with sincerity and commitment. At the end of the ceremony, all former presidents and secretaries appreciated Alkhidmat’s 50-year journey and expressed hope that it will further expand its scope of public service.
