Alkhidmat distributes 1,500 kg of chicken meat daily during Ramadan
Alkhidmat Karachi’s Community Services department is engaged in the daily distribution of more than 1,500 kg of chicken meat among needy individuals. This meat is delivered directly to the homes of the underprivileged, with Alkhidmat volunteers actively engaged in this effort since the first day of Ramadan. Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi, Rashid Qureshi, shared these details while reviewing the “Alkhidmat Meat Drive.” He stated that last year, Alkhidmat distributed over 50,000 kg of chicken meat among vulnerable groups affected by inflation and economic hardships. This year as well, the distribution of chicken meat will continue until Chand Raat (the night before Eid). He further mentioned that Alkhidmat has established a “Meat Drive Center” in Korangi, from where the meat is safely transported to all districts of the city via designated vehicles, and volunteers ensure its delivery to those in need. The large-scale distribution of meat is being supported by a partnering organization. Rashid Qureshi highlighted that due to rising prices, meat has become unaffordable for the common person, making it impossible for underprivileged individuals to even consider purchasing it. He also noted that during this holy month, in addition to distributing thousands of ration bags, Alkhidmat is continuing its other Community Service initiatives. He appealed to generous individuals to support Alkhidmat in helping the underprivileged, needy, and those in dire circumstances.
