Alkhidmat distributes livestock to flood victims
Alkhidmat Karachi’s “Tameer-e-Watan” program and “Farmer Rehabilitation Program” for flood victims are progressing at full steam. Recently, Alkhidmat distributed livestock including goats to farmers from Dera Ghazi Khan who had lost their farm animals in the floods. A large number of local residents and officials from Alkhidmat Karachi’s Disaster Management team were present during the distribution event. A team headed by Sarfaraz Sheikh, Manager Disaster Management Alkhidmat Karachi, also visited the flood-affected areas of Jafarabad and Sohbatpur in Balochistan to take account of the progress of Alkhidmat’s rehabilitation efforts, particularly the community kitchen and medical camps established there. Speaking on the occasion, CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig said that besides distributing livestock, Alkhidmat had also constructed 115 houses to flood victims in Dera Ghazi Khan who had lost their homes, with 100 more expected to be delivered soon. He added that Alkhidmat was at a crucial juncture in its rehabilitation program and would welcome assistance from all sections of society. Lastly, he reiterated his commitment to continue the rehabilitation operations until all the farmers were compensated and appealed to those with means to come forward and support Alkhidmat in its welfare activities.
