Alkhidmat establishes “Ramadan Food Hubs” at several locations in city

Alkhidmat Karachi has established food hubs in various areas of the city, where the preparation of thousands of ration bags is currently underway. Alkhidmat’s volunteers are actively engaged in this effort. Food hubs have been set up in Site Area, Shafiq Modh, Korangi, and North Karachi, where ration bags are being prepared on a large scale. These bags include flour, cooking oil, pulses, rice, sugar, gram flour, tea leaves, dates, and beverages. All ration bags will be dispatched to different districts and distributed through Alkhidmat’s local offices. CEO Naveed Ali Baig visited the food hub established in New Karachi, while Executive Director Rashid Qureshi visited the food hub in the Site Area. Senior Manager Community Services Sarfaraz Sheikh accompanied them. The officials met with the volunteers working at the sites, inspected the quality of items included in the ration bags, and expressed satisfaction. Speaking on the occasion, Naveed Ali Baig said that Karachi has thousands of needy, distressed, and self-respecting families who wait for ration assistance during the holy month so that they can observe Ramadan without hardship. Alkhidmat verifies such families and then delivers ration packages directly to their doorsteps. He added that, as in previous years, Alkhidmat has established food hubs this year as well, where thousands of ration bags are being prepared. He said that Alkhidmat is working in the fields of education, health, WASH (clean water), orphan care, community services, the Bano Qabil program, small microfinance initiatives, and disaster management, and appealed to philanthropists to support Alkhidmat in these sectors. Executive Director Rashid Qureshi said that Alkhidmat has been distributing ration bags to thousands of deserving families for many years. The purpose of providing ration is to enable underprivileged families to fully participate in the blessings of Ramadan, so that financial hardship does not deprive them of spiritual rewards during the holy month. He emphasized that Alkhidmat carries out all its activities with complete transparency, and that Alkhidmat’s supporters—whether in Pakistan or abroad—place full trust in the organization. He said that this year as well, thousands of deserving families in Karachi will benefit from the Ramadan food package. He added that the cost of preparing one ration bag is PKR 7,000 and urged well-off individuals to contribute to this cause.
