Alkhidmat has the largest fleet of funeral buses: Naveed Ali Baig

CEO Alkhidmat Karachi, Naveed Ali Baig, stated that while Alkhidmat’s Community Services Department is actively serving the weaker and underprivileged segments of society, its funeral bus service is also providing affordable transportation facilities to citizens across the city. He said that the Alkhidmat funeral bus service in Karachi is the largest such service in Pakistan. Naveed Ali Baig explained that the largest funeral bus service in Pakistan began in Karachi in 1970 with just two buses, launched by Abul A’la Maududi from Khaliq Dina Hall. The purpose of initiating the funeral bus service was to provide transportation facilities to people during times of bereavement within Karachi and its surrounding areas. Although the number of buses was limited at the beginning, the fleet has expanded significantly over time. He stated that today, by the grace of God, a fleet of 21 funeral buses is actively serving the public. However, considering the city’s growing population and needs, the current number of buses is still insufficient, and further expansion is necessary. Naveed Ali Baig added that Alkhidmat’s Community Services Department is engaged in various important initiatives. Community Services is one of the eight major departments of Alkhidmat, and the funeral bus service operates under this wing. He appealed to philanthropists to support Alkhidmat so that the scope of the funeral bus service can be further expanded. He specifically urged well-off individuals to contribute to this project.
