
Alkhidmat Inaugurates 69th Water Filtration Plant in Paposh Nagar
Alkhidmat Karachi’s “WASH Program,” has inaugurated its latest Water Filtration Plant in Paposh Nagar. The inauguration of the 69th plant was conducted by Chief Executive of Alkhidmat Karachi, Naveed Ali Baig. Present on the occasion were Director, WASH Program, Gauhar Islam, Union Council Chairman Iqbal Shaikh, Jamaat-e-Islami Central District Secretary Suhail Zaidi, WASH Program Manager Saad Akbar and other senior Alkhidmat representatives. A large number of local residents were also in attendance. Speaking at the inauguration, Naveed Ali Baig said that Alkhidmat is providing clean drinking water across the city. Currently, 68 water filtration plants are operational in various areas of Karachi, and the newly installed 69th plant in Paposh Nagar will provide affordable clean drinking water to local residents. He emphasized that the water provided at Alkhidmat’s filtration plants meets international standards. He added that Alkhidmat aims to establish water filtration plants in every area of the city to protect lives through access to clean water. He expressed hope that a large portion of Paposh Nagar’s population would benefit from the new facility. Director WASH Program, Gauhar Islam, stated that clean water is a major issue in the city. The water that reaches homes through pipelines is not suitable for drinking, leading to the spread of diseases. The only solution is to obtain water from reliable sources, as clean water is essential to life. He also highlighted that Alkhidmat’s WASH Program not only supplies clean and high-quality water but also raises public awareness about water hygiene and safety. UC Chairman Iqbal Shaikh and Jamaat-e-Islami Central District Secretary Suhail Zaidi said that Alkhidmat is actively serving the community in various sectors, including the vital area of clean water. They urged philanthropists to support Alkhidmat in these initiatives.
