Alkhidmat inaugurates 75th Water Filtration Plant in Jamia Millia, Malir

Alkhidmat Karachi inaugurated the 75th Water Filtration Plant under its WASH program at Jamia Millia in Malir recently. The inauguration was performed by MPA Sindh Assembly, Farooq Farhan. Also present on the occasion were Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District Airport, Chaudhry Ashraf, Malir Town Chairman Zafar Khan, and Director of the WASH Program, Gauhar-ul-Islam. Officials from Alkhidmat’s WASH program, residents and a large number of local dignitaries were also present at the ceremony. Speaking at the event, the special guest, Member of the Sindh Assembly Farooq Farhan, said that Alkhidmat has been serving the people of Karachi and Pakistan for 50 years. He praised all of Alkhidmat’s work, saying it is highly commendable. From helping vulnerable communities to responding during natural disasters or city emergencies, Alkhidmat has always been at the forefront of serving people. He further stated that water is a longstanding issue in Karachi, and contaminated water is an even bigger and more serious problem. Contaminated water spreads diseases, and Alkhidmat is providing clean water to people across the city, which is a significant service to the citizens. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District Airport Chaudhry Ashraf said that NGOs perform work that governments often do not, and Alkhidmat deserves congratulations for providing citizens with safe drinking water. Malir Town Chairman Zafar Khan said that Alkhidmat is a shining example of service. He noted that Alkhidmat has installed 75 water filtration plants so far, and more plants are needed in the city. He urged philanthropists to support Alkhidmat in this work. Director of the WASH Program, Gauhar-ul-Islam, said that Alkhidmat aims to install plants across the city. Water is one of the most important issues facing Karachi. Alkhidmat has also installed filtration plants in colleges and universities, and the installation at Jamia Millia, Malir is part of this ongoing effort. He encouraged philanthropists to support Alkhidmat’s initiatives.
