Alkhidmat launches Anti-Dengue and Malaria Spray Campaign
Alkhidmat Karachi has launched a spray campaign across the city to prevent the spread of malaria and dengue epidemics. The campaign was inaugurated on Friday evening from New M.A. Jinnah Road by CEO Alkhidmat Karachi, Naveed Ali Baig. On this occasion, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, Senior Manager Community Services, Sarfaraz Sheikh, and other officials were also present. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Naveed Ali Baig said that Alkhidmat has started a citywide spray campaign. Whenever the monsoon season arrives, after heavy rains, the breeding of mosquitoes and flies causes diseases such as malaria and dengue. He added that Alkhidmat has always served the citizens without discrimination and is committed to providing them with a clean and germ-free environment. Ten Alkhidmat vehicles will spray in two districts daily, and areas in urgent need will also be covered. Citizens can point out locations requiring spraying so that action can be taken there. “In the past, we mainly faced malaria outbreaks, but in recent years dengue has also become a major epidemic, which in some cases can even lead to death,” said Naveed Ali Baig. “I also congratulate all Alkhidmat workers who, despite the city’s crumbling infrastructure, are working to protect citizens from various diseases.” On the occasion, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi said that Alkhidmat organizes the spray campaign regularly every year to protect people from diseases caused by germs after rainfall. “This year too, the campaign has been launched, and spraying is being carried out in all areas with full dedication by Alkhidmat volunteers,” he added.
