Alkhidmat launches Karachi Youth Summit; Munim Zafar hails revolutionary program for Gen Z

Alkhidmat Karachi has officially launched the Karachi Youth Summit program under its Volunteer Management Department. The initiative aims to promote volunteerism among students and youth from schools, colleges, and universities, enhance their skills, and develop leadership qualities. A ceremony was held yesterday at a local hotel where an agreement was signed between Alkhidmat and the Youth Parliament. Both organizations will jointly work for the development of youth. On this occasion, the reveal logo of the Karachi Youth Summit was also unveiled. Addressing the ceremony, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Munim Zafar Khan, said that Alkhidmat has launched a revolutionary program in the form of the Karachi Youth Summit for Generation Alpha, Generation Z, and all young people. He said that Alkhidmat’s history is a shining example of service to the nation and the country. The event was also addressed by Chief Executive Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, TV anchor and head of the Youth Parliament Rizwan Jaffer, Gulshan Town Chairman Dr. Fouad, Norway Cup–winning football team coach Muhammad Rashid, Bushra Badr, and Senior Manager Volunteer Management Asad Ali Qureshi. Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, Jinnah Town Chairman Rizwan Abdul Sami, and representatives from various educational institutions and the corporate sector were also present. Munim Zafar Khan said that they have been engaged in welfare work even before the creation of Pakistan, and that Alkhidmat has been working as a registered NGO for the past 50 years. He said Alkhidmat is striving to empower youth, restore their dignity, and support them, and that the Youth Summit is part of this mission. He added that youth constitute 60% of Pakistan’s population and are the country’s most valuable asset, yet unfortunately, even after 78 years, there is no clear direction for them. The ruling elite has shown little concern, doctors are leaving the country, and despair is spreading among young people. Munim Zafar Khan further stated that Alkhidmat’s Bano Qabil program has expanded across the country, with 1.2 million youth already registered. He said Alkhidmat has served the nation during the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, torrential rains, and other emergency situations. During the global warming season, a large tree-plantation campaign was also launched. Giving hope to youth and developing leadership skills among them is highly commendable. Through this program, Alkhidmat aims to build character, instill ethics, and bring about a positive revolution in the country, through which real change will emerge. Speaking on the occasion, Naveed Ali Baig said that Pakistan faces numerous challenges, and seeing the frustration among youth, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman launched the Bano Qabil program. Today, the program has spread from Gwadar to Gilgit. He said the target this year is to connect two million youth with the program. Youth are the nation’s precious capital, and Alkhidmat does not want this capital to go to waste. He added that Allah’s blessings descend upon those who work as volunteers and urged youth to associate with Alkhidmat as volunteers. The Alkhidmat Youth Summit will visit various institutions to select youth participants. Through this program, positive change will be brought to society. The Youth Parliament has been working for the past 20 years and will collaborate closely with Alkhidmat. He said Alkhidmat is doing outstanding work in the IT sector and aims to give hope and show a path forward to the youth. Gulshan Town Chairman Dr. Fouad said that Pakistani youth possess immense potential and that Allah has made Pakistan a land of youth. He praised the role of Alkhidmat’s young volunteers during floods, COVID-19, and other natural disasters, calling their services commendable. He said youth are joining hands with Alkhidmat for the construction and development of the country. Bushra Badr said that Alkhidmat’s efforts to shape the future of youth are highly admirable and that the Youth Summit program will bring positive change to society.
