Alkhidmat Opens New Subsidized Lab, Pharmacy In Gulshan

Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi has opened a new laboratory and pharmacy in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Block 6 where medicines and medical tests will be offered at subsidized rates. The inauguration of the new services was done by renowned industrialist Zahid Saeed in the presence of CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, along with Director Diagnostic Services Professor Azeemuddin, Director Medical Services Dr. Saqib Ansari, Director Pharmacy Services Sayyed Jamshed Ahmed and other senior officials. A free medical camp was organized on the occasion where doctors conducted sugar and blood pressure tests on more than 200 patients. Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Saeed said that providing affordable medicine, healthcare and medical tests was the responsibility of the government, but in its absence, Alkhidmat was providing these essential facilities. He disclosed that top medical doctors had associated themselves with Alkhidmat’s Health department, making it one of the best providers of healthcare, a fact that was acknowledged even by leading medical institutions, and called upon citizens to avail this wonderful opportunity. Naveed Ali Baig added that on one hand, Alkhidmat was providing clean water to citizens to prevent diseases, and on the other, it was also providing healthcare services to treat diseases. More than 58 water filtration plants were running in the city where clean drinking water was being provided at one and a half rupee per liter, while Alkhidmat’s hospitals, medical centers and laboratories were providing quality medicines and medical tests at affordable rates. Finally, Sayyed Jamshed Ahmed stressed upon the importance of authentic and quality medicines without which the best doctors and tests were of no use. The only way to avoid the proliferation of fake medicine was to acquire medicine from well-recognized and reliable pharmacies and medical centers.
