Alkhidmat sets up Heat Stroke relief camps at 5 locations in city
Alkhidmat Karachi has set up “Relief Camps” at five locations in the city to combat the intense heat and the threat of a heatwave in Karachi, with plans to establish ten more camps today. These camps, organized by Alkhidmat’s Disaster Management Department, have been set up in Lasbela, New Karachi, North Karachi, Korangi, and Liaquatabad. Volunteers at the camps are present to assist travelers, pedestrians, and citizens by providing drinking water and cold beverages, as well as raising awareness on how to protect themselves from the heatwave. Meanwhile, Alkhidmat Karachi Executive Director Rashid Qureshi stated that in anticipation of the severe heat and forecasted heat wave, relief camps have been set up across various locations. Alkhidmat volunteers are encouraging citizens to adopt measures to prevent heatstroke. He advised citizens to avoid going outdoors unnecessarily in extreme heat, to keep their heads covered, carry water bottles, and particularly ensure that elderly individuals and children refrain from leaving home during peak afternoon hours. Rashid Qureshi emphasized that Alkhidmat will not leave the citizens alone in any difficult situation.
