Alkhidmat supporting 32,000 orphaned children nationwide: Munim Zafar Khan
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Muneem Zafar Khan, stated that Alkhidmat is sponsoring 32,000 orphaned children across the country. This year in Ramadan, Alkhidmat Karachi’s Orphan Care Program is facilitating 2,500 children with Eid shopping at a shopping mall. The shopping campaign will continue for five days. Each child has been given PKR 6,000 for Eid shopping and PKR 500 as Eidi (Eid gift money). The children have been given the opportunity to shop for Eid-ul-Fitr along with their mothers and guardians so they may fully participate in the joy of Eid. February 25 marks the death anniversary of former City Nazim Niamatullah Khan, to whom we pay tribute. He said that Alkhidmat gained global recognition because of Niamatullah Khan, who was a symbol of service and integrity. “We consider politics and public service as acts of worship,” he added. He expressed these views while speaking to the media at a shopping mall in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. On the occasion, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, Director Orphan Care Program Yousuf Mohiuddin, officials of Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Program, and a large number of student volunteers from schools, colleges, and universities were present. Later, he toured the mall, interacted with the children about their purchases, and affectionately encouraged them. Munim Zafar Khan said that Alkhidmat organizes Eid shopping for these children every year. These children are registered under Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Program and have been receiving monthly financial support at their homes for years. He added that along with financial sponsorship, Alkhidmat also arranges training and development programs for the children and their mothers. He further stated that Alkhidmat operates 24 Aghosh Homes nationwide. In Karachi, Aghosh Homes are established in Gulshan-e-Maymar for boys and in PECHS for girls, where they are provided with modern, high-quality boarding facilities. Children graduating from this program are becoming doctors and engineers and are serving the nation in various professional fields. Children residing in both Aghosh Homes for boys and girls will also be facilitated with Eid-ul-Fitr shopping. He added that Alkhidmat is also serving in the fields of education, healthcare, clean water, and other essential sectors throughout the year. He emphasized that while discussing our own children, we must not forget the children of Palestine. He stated that 74,000 people have been martyred there, the majority being women and children. “We remain connected with the people of Gaza. The people of Palestine are fighting for freedom. We have sent substantial relief supplies via sea and air routes, and this support continues. The people of Pakistan should remember Gaza in these difficult times.” He concluded by saying that Alkhidmat works to alleviate people’s suffering and spread happiness. He thanked the shopping mall administration and congratulated the entire Alkhidmat Orphan Care team and volunteers for their noble efforts.
