Alkhidmat’s 5-day Eid Shopping for 2,500 orphan kids concludes

Alkhidmat Karachi’s annual five-day Eid shopping event for 2,500 orphan children under its Orphan Care Program has concluded. On the fifth and final day (Saturday), children from Alkhidmat’s Aghosh Home at Gulshan-e-Maymar and girls from Aghosh Home PECHS were provided the opportunity to experience the excitement of Eid shopping at a local shopping mall. Administrators of the Aghosh Homes accompanied the children. On this occasion, CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, renowned TV anchor, Farhana Owais, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District East, Naeem Akhtar, Ameer District Korangi, Farhan Baig, and Director Alkhidmat WASH Program Gohar-ul-Islam were present. Speaking to the media, Naveed Ali Baig stated that Alkhidmat facilitated Eid shopping for 2,500 children in five days. These are courageous children whose families receive monthly financial sponsorship from Alkhidmat to support their education and other essential needs. Among them, 200 children reside in Aghosh Homes. He added that the children were invited along with their mothers to shop freely according to their own preferences. “The smiles on these children’s faces are priceless,” he said, adding that Alkhidmat is striving to spread happiness among these families and improve their future. Along with financial sponsorship, Alkhidmat also arranges training and development programs for both the children and their mothers. He further stated that each child was given PKR 6,000 for Eid shopping and PKR 500 as Eidi. The total expenditure for shopping for 2,500 children amounted to millions of rupees, which Alkhidmat undertakes with dedication and joy. He noted that under this program, Alkhidmat is sponsoring 32,000 children nationwide, while 24 Aghosh Homes are providing thousands of children with quality boarding-style facilities. Naveed Ali Baig appealed to philanthropists to support this noble cause. Meanwhile, renowned TV anchor Farhana Owais said that she visits every year to spend these precious moments with the children, an initiative regularly organized by Alkhidmat. She described it as remarkable work and emphasized that supporting orphans is a Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH), and this tradition should be widely promoted. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District East, Naeem Akhtar and Ameer District Korangi, Farhan Baig expressed happiness over the Eid shopping activity. They stated that orphaned children are like our own children and are the bright stars of the future. They should not be neglected. By sponsoring them, Alkhidmat is performing a great act of virtue, and everyone should contribute to this noble effort.
