Alkhidmat’s Annual Health Screening for Orphans Kicks off with 356 children screened
The 2025 annual health screening of courageous orphan children has commenced under Alkhidmat Karachi’s Orphan Care Program. So far, the screening of 356 children from the Malir and West clusters has been completed. In total, 2,400 children across 11 clusters under the Alkhidmat Orphan Care Program in Karachi will undergo health screening. Alongside providing home-based care for these orphan children, Alkhidmat also prioritizes their health. For this purpose, health camps were arranged for children of Malir and West clusters at Alkhidmat Fareeda Yaqoob Hospital, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, and Alkhidmat Hospital, Orangi. Teams of general physicians, dentists, ophthalmologists, and ENT specialists were present for the check-ups, supported by paramedical staff. After examinations, the children were given prescribed medicines, while Alkhidmat volunteers assisted both children and their mothers. Doctors also shared health tips, emphasizing oral hygiene before bedtime, awareness about eye care, and safety practices. Director Alkhidmat Orphan Care Program, Yousuf Mohiuddin, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami District Malir Syed Mufakhar Ali, and General Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami District West Abdul Hannan visited the camps. On the occasion, Syed Mufakhar Ali said that supporting orphans is an honor that Alkhidmat is blessed to fulfill, and those with compassionate hearts who spend in the way of Allah also share in this blessing. He added that Alkhidmat’s services extend across the country, serving people in nearly every field of life, and called upon philanthropists to continue supporting these efforts. Director Yousuf Mohiuddin stated that Alkhidmat conducts these health screenings regularly every year to ensure that the children supported at home also receive proper healthcare and that their medical needs are addressed. He further said that the health screening will continue in phases.
