Alkhidmat’s biannual meeting reviews projects and sets future plans

Executive Director, Alkhidmat Karachi, Rashid Qureshi, stated that Alkhidmat is striving to transform lives within society. Through the Bano Qabil and Skill Development programs, hundreds of young people have started freelancing or launched their own businesses, enabling them to support their families. These two programs are bringing about significant social change. He made these remarks while presiding over Alkhidmat Karachi’s biannual review meeting. Senior managers and department heads of all Alkhidmat programs attended the session, presenting performance updates for their respective sectors and briefing on future plans and strategies. During the meeting, it was shared that Alkhidmat’s Skill Development Program and Arabic Language Courses have now been affiliated with the Sindh Board of Technical Education. Graduates of these programs will now receive official certification from the Board. Rashid Qureshi praised the efforts of Alkhidmat staff and volunteers during Eid-ul-Adha, whose hard work resulted in a record number of animal hides being collected. He also appreciated the skills and contributions of the team involved in the Bano Qabil graduation ceremony, which honored nearly 5,000 students from the Bano Qabil 4.0 cohort with awards. He noted that Alkhidmat hospitals and diagnostic centers are providing quality services, and 70 water purification plants are operating across the city to provide clean drinking water. Under the Mawakhat program, graduates of the Skill Development Program are also receiving interest-free loans to help them start businesses and become financially independent. Through its Education Department, Alkhidmat is not only imparting religious knowledge via madaris but also working to build the character and personalities of the younger generation. Qureshi further stated that the Community Services Department of Alkhidmat continued its commendable work over the past six months. The Disaster Management Unit remains actively engaged. Currently, 2,400 orphans are being supported under the Orphan Care Program, and over 100 children are being raised with exceptional care at Aghosh Home. He added that a well-structured volunteer training program is being run under the Volunteer Management Department, which is positively impacting Alkhidmat’s work. He commended all departments for their contributions and emphasized the need to achieve their targets within the proposed timelines through effective coordination and strategic planning.
