
Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Program hosts Iftar dinner for orphan children
Under the Alkhidmat Orphan Care Program, an iftar dinner was organized at the Alkhidmat Head Office in collaboration with Ocean Network Express Private Limited. The event was attended by registered orphan children and their mothers from the Quaideen Cluster. The ceremony was presided over by CEO Alkhidmat Karachi, Naveed Ali Baig. Addressing the gathering, he said that Alkhidmat is currently supporting over 34,000 orphan children across Pakistan, including 2,500 children in Karachi alone. He added that around 140 children are residing in Aghosh Homes, where they are being provided with quality accommodation, education, and other essential facilities. He emphasized that these courageous orphan children are the bright future of the nation, and their education and upbringing are of utmost importance. Naveed Ali Baig further stated that at the beginning of Ramadan, Alkhidmat arranged Eid shopping for these children at a major shopping mall in Karachi, where their mothers and a large number of volunteers were also present. He described it as a unique initiative, adding that the joy on the children’s faces was beyond words. He stressed that Alkhidmat aims to ensure that these children grow up like other children without any sense of deprivation. Executive Director Rashid Qureshi said that these children are “our own children,” and along with financial support at their homes, Alkhidmat also arranges training and development programs for both the children and their mothers. He added that caring for orphans is a Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and a collective responsibility of society. Deputy General Manager of Ocean Network Express Pvt. Ltd., Taimoor Baig, appreciated Alkhidmat’s efforts, stating that the organization is doing remarkable work and that they will continue to support such initiatives in the future. Director Orphan Care Program, Yousuf Mohiuddin thanked Ocean Network Express for organizing the iftar dinner for the children and their mothers. Addressing the children, he encouraged them to focus on their education, saying that they are the bright future of the country.
