
Alkhidmat’s tree-planting drive as part of Green Pakistan campaign boosts Independence Day celebrations
Alkhidmat Karachi’s Volunteer Program has organized a tree-planting drive along with Iqra University North Campus on the occasion of Independence Day as part of its Green Pakistan Campaign. A ceremony was held to launch the drive that was attended by a large number of students with CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig as the chief guest. Also present were Director Volunteer Program Yousuf Mohiuddin, Senior Manager Asad Qureshi, and Iqra University faculty member and Patron of the Wellbeing Society, Salman Hussain. Addressing the event, Naveed Ali Baig said: “As part of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations, Alkhidmat’s ‘Green Pakistan’ tree-planting campaign is underway, through which thousands of saplings have already been planted. Making Pakistan green, flourishing, and clean is our collective responsibility. The younger generation can play a vital role in this mission, and I urge all students to actively participate, join Alkhidmat in making Pakistan pollution-free and green.” He thanked the administration and students of Iqra University for their cooperation. On the occasion, Iqra University faculty member and Patron of the Wellbeing Society, Salman Hussain, praised Alkhidmat’s efforts, stating that while Alkhidmat is engaged in serving humanity, it is also working for the environment, which is commendable. “It is our duty to come forward in this campaign and play our role by planting as many trees as possible,” he said. After the ceremony, Naveed Ali Baig planted saplings in various parts of the university, which were watered afterwards. Students also planted saplings and were presented with plants as gifts from Alkhidmat. A large number of Alkhidmat volunteers were present, guiding the students in the planting process.
