
Eid Shopping for 900 orphan children commences under Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Program
Alkhidmat Karachi has commenced its annual Eid shopping campaign for orphan children under its Orphan Care Program. In the first two days of this 5-day event, 900 orphaned children from Keamari, West, Airport, Malir, and Shah Faisal clusters completed their Eid shopping. The children, accompanied by their mothers and guardians, participated in the shopping activity. Alkhidmat arranged the shopping opportunity at a mall in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where volunteers assisted the children and their mothers throughout the process. Each child was given a shopping voucher worth PKR 6,000. The boys and girls purchased clothes of their choice, shoes, watches, and other items. Happiness was clearly visible on their faces. During the Eid shopping event, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, renowned actor Ayaz Khan, actor Shehroz Sabzwari, actor Kashif Khan, Chairman of Sindh Technical Board of Education, Musharraf Ali Rajput, TV anchor Rizwan Jaffer, Professor Dr. Yasmin Sultan Farooqui, Chairperson of Spark Business Club Syeda Riffat Hasan, comedian Irfan Malik, and Director Orphan Care Program Yousuf Mohiuddin visited the mall. They met the children and their mothers and expressed affection and encouragement. Speaking on the occasion, Rashid Qureshi said that Alkhidmat organizes Eid-ul-Fitr shopping for these courageous children every year. This year, 2,500 children are being facilitated. The children are given the opportunity to shop alongside their mothers so they may experience Eid joyfully and feel like other children. Actor Ayaz Khan stated that Alkhidmat is doing remarkable work and has established a beautiful tradition by arranging Eid shopping for these “shining stars” every year. He said that supporting orphans is a Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and a means of attaining Paradise, and urged the public to actively participate in this noble cause. Chairman Musharraf Ali Rajput appreciated Alkhidmat’s efforts, saying it is heartening to witness such work and that it sets a strong example for other organizations to include deserving children in Eid celebrations. Actor Shehroze Ali said that it is the responsibility of the entire society to support Alkhidmat in this mission. Rizwan Jaffer emphasized the importance of reviving the Sunnah of placing a compassionate hand on the heads of orphans, stating that caring for orphans brings one closer to the Prophet (PBUH) and to Allah. Professor Dr. Yasmin Sultan Farooqui, Syeda Riffat Hasan, and Irfan Malik also praised Alkhidmat’s services, stating that the organization’s work in supporting orphans is exemplary for the world. They appealed to philanthropists to support Alkhidmat.
