
Munim Zafar distributes mobile accessories worth millions to small traders under Alkhidmat’s Apna Karobar scheme
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Munim Zafar Khan said that Alkhidmat’s services span half a century and that the organization works with honesty and integrity, ensuring that the trust of philanthropists reaches the people. He said that welfare activities were being carried out even before the creation of Pakistan, and that Alkhidmat, which was registered in 1976, has today grown into a strong and flourishing institution. He said that whether it is an earthquake or floods, Alkhidmat stands with the nation in every difficult moment. Even during the Gul Plaza tragedy, Alkhidmat’s Disaster Management Team was working actively. He expressed these views while addressing, as chief guest, a ceremony held on Tuesday afternoon at Idara Noor-e-Haq, where mobile accessories worth millions of rupees were distributed among 20 deserving individuals under the Alkhidmat Apna Karobar initiative to help them start businesses. On the occasion, Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, Director Microfinance Program Yusuf Mohiuddin, Manager Muhammad Tariq, and other officials were present. Certificates were also distributed among the beneficiaries. Munim Zafar Khan said that whether it was the 2005 earthquake, the 2010 and 2022 floods, or emergency situations in the city, Alkhidmat’s Disaster Management Team has always been present to help people. He said the team works for the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of affected individuals. He further stated that Alkhidmat works to bring smiles to people’s faces and to share their grief. Alkhidmat enjoys public trust, which is why it is active in every field of life. He urged philanthropists to support Alkhidmat so that its work may be expanded further. He appreciated the Alkhidmat Apna Karobar initiative and congratulated the entire team. He said that the individuals who received mobile accessories for their businesses were fortunate, as this support would help expand their businesses. He emphasized striving for halal earnings to bring blessings into sustenance and trade. Executive Director Alkhidmat Rashid Qureshi said that Alkhidmat has entered its 50th year of service and that for five decades it has been transferring the trusts of philanthropists to deserving people with honesty. These trusts—whether in the form of zakat, food items, or donations—are delivered to beneficiaries with integrity. He said that Alkhidmat is working across eight sectors of life. Keeping in view the vision of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, free IT education has been provided to youth. Under the Bano Qabil Program, 1.2 million students from across the country have already been registered, and God willing, this number will increase in 2026, with a target of educating 2 million students. The program has expanded nationwide. Under the Orphan Family Support Program, orphan children are supported at their homes on a monthly basis, while complete care is provided at Aghosh Homes. Currently, 3,500 children are residing in 30 Aghosh Homes across the country. Under the Health Services Department, hospitals, diagnostic centers, medical centers, clinics, collection points, and pharmacies have been established across the city, where people are provided quality treatment facilities. Diagnostic tests and medicines are also offered at subsidized rates. In the field of education, madrasas and schools are equipping the new generation with both religious and modern education. Scholarships are provided to capable and intelligent students to help them continue their studies. Under Community Services, free patient beds, crutches, and wheelchairs are provided. IT education is also being imparted in prisons, where hundreds of inmates have completed courses. Through the Microfinance Program, small interest-free loans are provided so that financially vulnerable individuals can stand on their own feet. Under the Skill Development Program, youth are trained in motorcycle mechanics, electrical work, industrial automation, and other trades, enabling unemployed individuals to become skilled and self-reliant. He said that Alkhidmat has entered its 50th year and enjoys public trust. The equipment distributed at the event is worth Rs. 200,000 per individual. Allah willing, in its 50th year, 50 people will be provided employment. The mobile accessories distributed will help light the homes of 20 families.
He emphasized that business owners must adopt honesty in trade and adhere to the commandments of Allah and His Messenger. Director Microfinance Program Yusuf Mohiuddin said that the microfinance program is aimed at helping unemployed individuals stand on their own feet by providing interest-free small loans. He said efforts are made to introduce innovative support through the program, which is why mobile accessories were provided on this occasion.
He expressed gratitude to the philanthropists who supported the provision of mobile accessories and said that the process of business support and employment generation would continue.
